The Can-Am Ryker series is a bare-bones, less expensive "recreational" version, with feet-forward upright seating, the lowest ground-to-seat height, and a smaller 600 or 900 cc engine. There are four trim packages available for the Ryker: the 600, the 900, the 900 Sport and the 900 Rally.

In contrast to the 900-series and 500-series Kenworth conventionals, the cab introduced "bulkhead-style" doors (with full-length hinges). In another change, the roof panel was changed from metal to fiberglass. While functionally different, the W900 retained the wide-style vent windows, with door handles mounted below the windows.
Can-Am was the birthplace and proving ground for what, at the time, was cutting-edge technology. Can-Am cars were among the first race cars to use sport wings, effective turbocharging, ground-effect aerodynamics, and aerospace materials like titanium. This led to the eventual downfall of the original series when costs got prohibitive.
