Ariadne is the name of a planet in the Xenosaga video game series. Ariadne is a major character in the BBC series Atlantis (2013), which is loosely based on Greek myths. Played by Aiysha Hart, she falls in love with Jason and helps him conquer the Minotaur and escape the labyrinth. Later, her stepmother Pasiphae tries to prevent their union.

Theseus (UK: / ˈ θ iː sj uː s /, US: / ˈ θ iː s i ə s /; Ancient Greek: Θησεύς [tʰɛːsěu̯s]) was a divine hero in Greek mythology, famous for slaying the Minotaur.The myths surrounding Theseus, his journeys, exploits, and friends, have provided material for storytelling throughout the ages.
Theseus cut his thongs and freed his companion, Euthycles. The Minotaur, seeing the danger, seized a long sword to hold off the unarmed Greeks while it made to escape. Euthycles sprang at it and was killed, allowing Theseus time to crush the creature with its throne. They discover that the Minotaur was King Minos himself in a bull-mask.
