The Buick Skyhawk is an automobile produced by Buick in two generations for the 1975 through 1989 model years.. The first generation (1975–1980) were two-door hatchbacks using the subcompact, rear-wheel drive H-body platform, a badge engineered entry-level version of the Chevrolet Monza, which was based on the Chevrolet Vega while the only engine available was a V6.
The compact Skyhawk and Skylark also received the T-Type treatment in 1983, and in 1986 the Somerset did as well. By 1987, Buick offered T-Type trim levels on its full-size LeSabre and Electra, notably without the turbochargers. The Lesabre T-Type coupe recalled the 1986 Lesabre Grand National (116 built).
The Firenza GT was only available on the S Coupe hatchback, [5] unlike the Chevy Cavalier Z24, Buick Skyhawk T-Type, and Pontiac Sunbird GT, which could be had as either two-door hatchbacks, two-door and four-door sedans. Four door hatchbacks of the J-platform were offered in Europe.
