Alabaster Caverns State Park is a 200-acre (0.81 km 2) state park approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) south of Freedom, Oklahoma, United States near Oklahoma State Highway 50. [3] The park attracted 24,706 visitors in FY 2016, The lowest count of the three parks in its part of Oklahoma.
Last summer, we welcomed over 35,000 park bookings, a 30% increase over the previous year. This year, we hope to build on that momentum and welcome even more visitors to our parks.
The Nickel Family Preserve is located in the forested and rocky Cookson Hills region of eastern Oklahoma. Elevations on the refuge range from 850 feet (260 m) to 1,250 feet (380 m). [1] The preserve was founded in 2000 due to a land gift from the John Nickel family. It is the largest privately owned conservation area in the Ozark Mountains. [2]
