Bomdila is one of the 60 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh state in India. [ 2 ] It is part of West Kameng district and is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes .
Siang district was bifurcated into two districts: East Siang district and West Siang district. [13] Seppa and Bomdila sub-divisions of the Kameng district were transformed into East Kameng district and West Kameng district, respectively. [14] [15] On 6 October 1984, Tawang district was separated from East Kameng district. [16]
Like East Kameng, the West Kameng district experiences an arid tundra or a cool temperate climate in the north. Snow fall occurs from mid-November to February. Snow can be also seen in Khupi, Bomdila, Sela. Sela range is the highest place in the district, situated at 13,714 feet above sea level.
At the time of inception on 15 August 1975, the number of constituencies of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly was 30. Since the attainment of the statehood on 20 February 1987, the number has been enhanced to 60 out of which 59 constituencies are reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled tribes.
