The Wyoming Business Council is Wyoming's state economic development and diversification agency. It creates new opportunities for current and future generations of Wyomingites. The agency envisions diverse, broad and lasting growth so that Wyoming can prosper regardless of the economic climate or the status of individual sectors.
Wyoming has 10 intercity bus organizations, serving 38 cities. There are 23 counties within Wyoming which have a total of 41 public transit systems. There are approximately 2,000 miles (3,200 km) of rail in Wyoming, 100 miles (160 km) which are state-owned. Wyoming has nine primary service airports. [2]
In 1992, Wyoming reorganized all state agencies that deal with natural resources, and the legislature declared the EQC to be a separate operating agency. [5] There are also two Governor-appointed, Wyoming Senate -confirmed independent entities: the Environmental Quality Council (EQC) and the Industrial Siting Council.

The institutions of the former state agency were divided and given to other agencies; the Department of Family Services received the boys' and girls' schools and the Youth Treatment Center (originally the Wyoming Children's Home) in Casper. The Wyoming Legislature stopped funding the youth treatment centre, which closed on July 1, 1996. [8]
The Wyoming Highway Patrol is the highway patrol and de facto state police agency for the U.S. state of Wyoming, and has jurisdiction across the entire state. The goals of the Wyoming Highway Patrol are to make Wyoming's highways safer by reducing the number of traffic crashes, deaths, and injuries; to apprehend and arrest criminals using Wyoming's highways; and to assist motorists in trouble.
