Celotex Corporation is a defunct American manufacturer of insulation and construction materials. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It was the subject of a number of high-profile lawsuits over products containing asbestos in the 1980s, eventually declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1990.
Cemesto is a sturdy, lightweight, waterproof and fire-resistant composite building material made from a core of sugarcane fiber insulating board, called Celotex, surfaced on both sides with asbestos cement. It was originally developed by the Celotex Corporation and first introduced to the market in 1931. [1]
The indefinite ban applies to Kingspan, Celotex, Arconic and Rydon is part of a series of measures, which also include a commitment to review and improve the council's culture.
