Carteret County Home is a historic poorhouse located at Beaufort, Carteret County, North Carolina. It was built in 1914, and enlarged in 1917. It is a one-story gable-front frame structure with a two-story center section patterned after the hall and parlor plan. The Carteret County Home operated until 1943, and later converted to apartments. [2]
His son, William Dennis Junior was a captain in the 8th North Carolina Regiment (1777-1778), was present at Valley Forge and also fought in the Carteret County Regiment (1781-1782). In the 1790 U.S. census , Dennis was one of the largest land owners in the county.

Salter-Battle Hunting and Fishing Lodge, also known as Portsmouth Hunting and Fishing Club, is a historic hunting lodge located on Sheep Island near Ocracoke, Carteret County, North Carolina. It was built about 1945, and is a simple one-story, side-gable, frame building set on concrete piers. A gable-front, screened porch was added about 1948.
