Marcus Junius Brutus (/ ˈbruːtəs /; Latin pronunciation: [ˈmaːrkʊs juːniʊs ˈbruːtʊs]; c. 85 BC – 23 October 42 BC) was a Roman politician, orator, [2] and the most famous of the assassins of Julius Caesar.
