Activity points. 10,985. ordinary devices are low current and low voltage devices. power devices are high current and/or high vlotage devices. ordinary devices generally can be for very high frequency. power devices , again generally, for low to medium frequency. the frequency classification is just for understanding though exceptions are there.

i200yrs said: Output 1.5kv Vp-p AC up to 3A/6A current, frequency range 47Hz to 1KHz. Nothing about waveform. The first thought would be: sine. But I guess I´ve never seen a sinewave supply specified with "peak-to-peak" voltage. I rather would expect 530V RMS then.

    1. Activity points. 44. I'm trying to make a half bridge power supply . after a year of learning, now every thing looks perfect when i run it at 45V DC bench power supply but when i run it on mains (240AC) the low side IGBT get hotter then the high side one ( I don't have a temp meter at the moment but it looks x2 times hotter then high side ...

Activity points. 15,937. Hi, Obviously the easiest and cheapest way to dim a room-full. of lights (or even an office block full of lights) is to have a phase cut dimmer. you simply phase. cut the mains to the lights. This method needs no extra signal. wires to go to the lights. Also, purists would criticise the poor power factor of this method.

  7. 2.5kV H-bridge power design - Forum for Electronics

    www.edaboard.com/threads/2-5kv-h-bridge-power-design.411740

For your dual active bridge design with TO 247-4 SiC MOSFETs connected to a 2.5kV DC-link, there are several considerations regarding PCB design and the use of copper bars. PCB Design Concerns. 1. **Voltage Isolation**: The distance between drain and source pins on a PCB is crucial, especially at high voltages like 2.5kV.

  8. Can I replace SCR with power MOSFET? | Forum for Electronics

    www.edaboard.com/threads/can-i-replace-scr-with-power-mosfet.373135

Don't know your application so this may not be appropriate for you. If interested search "crowbar methods: mosfet vs scr". For low voltage applications, MOSFETs are certainly far better than SCRs (or any bipolar technology). However the OP's schematic suggests a trigger voltage around 5.5V, which is fine for SCRs.

the power environment or you have to assert such. power-quality requirements as a use condition, not. an especially customer-friendly posture. In general "good" is subjective and supply combinations. and variations are semi-infinite, so you (like the rest. of us) will probably have to muddle through. J. JohnLai.

  10. power rating of smd resistors | Forum for Electronics

Percentage = 1 %. At 100 degC it will be 20000 ppm/50°C. Percentage = 20000/10^6 * 100. Percentage = 2 %. and so on. This shows that tolerance is temperature dependent. But this is also true that smd resistors are available in more then one power rating. For example 1206 is available in 250 mWatt and also in 500 mWatt.

2,618. orcad tca785. Orcad uses PSpice, so that eliminates one possibility. I'd use PSpice rather than Matlab if you want to take into account the model of the real device you want to use. You may want to take a look at PSim, it's optimized for Power Electronics. Maybe you'll find the model for this device on the manufacturer's website.
