Jun 7, 2012. 180. #5. I wouldn't sweat it as the comment has been on every GIA IF report I have ever seen, including mine. "The comment "minor details of polish not shown" on a GIA graded diamond of Internally Flawless (IF) clarity is in my opinion a sort of "catch all liability opt out type of phrase" that the GIA seems to use on ALL diamonds ...
Clarity characteristics are divided into two categories - internal characteristics are considered "inlusions" and surface characteristics "blemishes". The internally flawless grade (IF) by definition has some blemish, otherwise it would get a grade of Flawless (FL). Karl_K. Aug 4, 2008.
Those are not 'good' details... but, as writen "minor" imperfections. What kind? Well, all I read in your post is all I know: these are not surface graining (otherwise this would be expressely mentioned) so some kind of "polish lines" come to mind. There has been a post about them a month or so ago.
You do need a 10X loupe. Look on the girdle of the diamond for the inscription. It may be hard to view unless you are accomplished with a loupe. #3. Thanks! diamondseeker2006. Jan 11, 2006. 58,559. #4.
Additional Inscription: H&A. that isnt a deal breaker at all. 1 u have to have a microscope to see the laser registry so the performance of the diamond hasnt been effected at all and 2 H&A diamonds are considered one of the best cuts period i see no negative here. Re: VVS1 vs IF & Signature Ideal or less spec 4 bigger Diamo @ diamondseeker2006 thanks for your reply, you advice to drop the clarity (as you can only tell difference with mechanical aid) and stay with F colour, while the signature ideal cut stays the same.
6,632. #2. It's simply going to be hard to find non-oiled emeralds. I would say if you can afford it and you want more peace of mind sure get a non enhanced (non oiled) emerald. For the rest of us mortals even a minor oil treatment fine muzo emerald is a rare creature and still a treasure.
You need to get to know the drivers and put them through many more paces to make a more detailed determination. Even then, there are details that remain unaccounted-for. The HCA does not take the 40 minor facets into consideration (of 57 total on the diamond). It does not account for cut-consistency. It does not account for 3D optical precision.
Zambia. Clarity Enhanced (F2) Minor resin is present in surface cavities. Comments: Due to their growth conditions in nature and recovery methods, most emeralds contain surface-reaching features. For this reason, clarity enhancement is a common trade practice. This seems a bit odd to me, as F2 corresponds to moderate clarity enhancement (GIA ...
#4 Matching a stone to the report is usually pretty easy without using the inscription. That's just a backup. Aside from inclusions, there are a bunch of dimensions that can be used as well as fluorescence and other 'minor' details. Gemprint is used for exactly this. It's not like you're asking about an accidental stone switch on the setters bench.
