RTS was the host broadcaster of the semi-final and finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. Serbia gained the rights to host the contest after Marija Šerifović's 2007 victory in Helsinki, Finland. The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was held in Belgrade. RTS broadcast the event as usual (since 2004) on RTS1.
Radio Television of Republika Srpska (Serbian: Радио Телевизија Републике Српске / Radio Televizija Republike Srpske or RTRS) is the entity-level public broadcaster which operates radio and television services in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Parliamentary sittings are also broadcast live on RTS 2. Though on average it doesn't draw high viewership, RTS 2 often may win the viewing day with special sporting events or special parliamentary debates. RTS 2 also broadcasts children's and educational programmes and reruns of old Serbian drama and comedy series.
Some 67% of households are provided with pay television services (i.e. 38.7% cable television, 16.9% IPTV, and 10.4% satellite). [5] There are 90 pay television operators (cable, IPTV, DTH), largest of which are SBB (mainly cable) with 48% market share, Telekom Srbija (mts TV) with 25%, followed by PoštaNet with 5%, and Ikom and Kopernikus with 4% and 3%, respectively.

During the 1990s, RTV became part of the centralized Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) but maintained its multilingual programming. In 1999, NATO bombed the RTNS studios, leading to their relocation. The 2002 Broadcasting Act established RTV as a distinct public broadcaster, and in 2006, it was legally separated from RTS.
