As mentioned above, buy them from a local lumberyard as opposed to Home Depot. Andersen will ship a "Van Load" to their Circle of Excellence Lumber Yards.

    Based on dollar for dollar and option for option, I would always choose Pella in my house. Eagle is also a very good choice but I haven't dealt with them as much. If you want cheap, easy to get, low end, low cost windows, you go to Home Depot or Lowes but like someone said, don't expect the same window.

    Paintable Silicone. The main problem with silicone caulk is that most of it isn't paintable. There is a "silicone 3" (various brands and name variations) that is paintable. Good stuff, but hard to get out of the tube, as noted above on some of the other high-end caulk. Around $7 per tube.

    New customer wants the windows with the Blind Inside the glass - I've hung doors like that, from Lowe's, but not windows. Home Depot does not carry. Lowe's can get them through Pella - . About 1/2 the windows needing replacing are odd size, and will be picture windows. some obsure glass, some blind in, some no blind.

Steel entry doors from the big box stores are typically 26 or 28 gauge, have wood framing (exposed) around the slab, are usually filled with the elcheapo polystyrene foam (think $2.99 cooler from the gas station) and are basically JUNK like others have mentioned.

    I am confused. I thought RBA was the Traditional Andersen Windows. Which at homeshow it is easy to point out the difference as well as in the home. What I am wondering. In other markets how do others that sell Andersen Windows call out the difference. Its easy once you are in the home selling to inform the homeowner.
