Some easy songs I like are Landslide and Can't Find My Way Home. Neil Young's Needle and the Damage Done can be played as alternating bass. Julia by the Beatles is a pretty one with an easy pattern, but there's a G9 chord in there that gave me fits for a few weeks. _____

I recently got a G harmonica and neck holder. First song I learned was Heart of Gold (N. Young). Pretty easy to learn. Help me out: what are more suggestions for easy-to-learn songs (easy for harmonica, at least) that include harmonica while playing guitar? Doesn't matter what key they're in. I can always get the appropriate keyed harp.
Hi a1 For me it's any easy song in key of D or G. All you have to do is figure out how you are going to finger the G chord, and Em, and how to avoid playing open strings which don't fit the chord…and the rest kind of takes care of itself.
Let's see, easy strumming songs. I agree with Big Eyed Fish & Gravedigger. Also, try: The Song That Jane Likes Don't Drink The Water (all power chords, pretty easy) Digging A Ditch (only one note changes, but you have to get comfortable and play around with it) Everyday (maybe a bit more challenging with the bridge)
From the Stones, there's a bunch of easy songs. The Some Girls album was all A-D-E except for Far Away Eyes (F-C-B) and Beast of Burden (not really a three-chord song). There's also Angie, Wild Horses, Dead Flowers, just to name a few.
My most recent acoustic solo gig I did a couple of Mississippi John Hurt tunes, an Elizabeth Cotton song, some John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, an original, a 1920's swing tune, a couple of Bob Wills, two early Rockabilly songs, and a Leo Kottke. It went down well :-) Kind regards Derek _____
