Actually, there is security code, at least on 16-17 ex and up. If the unit is comes from another vehicle I stalled into yours, it will ask for a security code. If that same (replacement/upgrades to Navi from non navi) unit is in the vehicle and you disconnect the battery, it will not ask you for a code.
