Barney Kessel (October 17, 1923 – May 6, 2004) was an American jazz guitarist born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA. He was a member of many prominent jazz groups as well as a "first call" guitarist for studio, film, and television recording sessions. Kessel was a member of the group of session musicians known as The Wrecking Crew.

Guitarist Herb Ellis, who appears in the ep as bandleader Bobby Fleet, reportedly supplied the real guitar-playing for Best.
So I'm going to pick up a few Etta James albums on vinyl (re-issues.) I'm not really interested in which re-issue is better, audiophile, etc. I'm just curious what you think are her three best albums? I'm having a tough time deciding!

Actor - Musician, James Best who played Jim Lindsey in two episodes, was also on Dukes Of Hazzard. He was a cousin to the Everly Brothers. Thier dad, Ike, was James Best's mother's brother.
I just watched a Twilight Zone episode the other night. The one with Lee Marvin called The Grave. Great episode and James Best is great in it. He was in a couple of them. I also liked his appearances on The Andy Griffith Show and, of course, Roscoe P. Coltrane. R.I.P. Mr. Best.

The A & B above (Hi James/Thats All Folks) usually have a distinct wide run out or deadwax area. This is the hotter or louder pressing. Listen to 'Fire & Rain,' or 'Steamroller Blues' for example.....the vocals go into a heavy clipped sibilance on the "S's" (sounds like 'ssshhh'). The 'Lazarus' pressings usually have the tiny Lazarus on side two.
