Anouk Schemmekes [1] [2] (née Teeuwe, Dutch: [aːˈnuk ˈsxɛməkəs ˈteːu.ə]; born 8 April 1975), professionally known by the mononym Anouk, is a Dutch singer and songwriter. After her 1997 breakthrough rock single " Nobody's Wife ", she had additional hit records in the Dutch and Belgian charts.
"Nobody's Wife" is the second single released from Dutch singer-songwriter Anouk's debut studio album, Together Alone (1997). The song, a rock ballad, [2] was written by Anouk, Satindra Kalpoe, and Bart van Veen, and it was produced by George Kooymans, Barry Hay, and John Sonneveld.

For Bitter or Worse is the sixth studio album from the Dutch singer Anouk. The album was released on 18 September 2009, via the record label EMI. [1] The first single from the album, "Three Days in a Row" was released in August. It reached the top of the Netherlands charts in September 2009, making it Anouk's first number one in the country.
Anouk's debut single, "Mood Indigo", was released in 1996 and became a moderate hit in her native Netherlands. Its follow-up, " Nobody's Wife ", was released the following year. After peaking at number two on the Dutch Top 40 , the single became a European hit, entering the top ten in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

On 17 October 2012, Dutch broadcaster TROS selected Anouk to represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013.
