Chesterfield Charter Township is a charter township of Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census the population was 45,376. [2] The township was organized in 1842, formed from a portion of Macomb Township. In 1989 it gained charter status. The township is part of Metro Detroit. [5]
Then it goes north through St. Clair and Sanilac Counties and ends at M-142 near Bad Axe in Huron County. M-29 begins as part of 23 Mile Road, east of I-94, and ends in Marysville. A small area in the southeast of the township is drained by Nash Creek, which flows east to the Rogue River. Crockery Lake, on the Crockery Creek near the center of the township, is the only sizeable body of water in the township. The highest point in Conklin is approximately 1-mile (1.6 km) from Crockery Lake by Gooding Street and 24th Avenue.

Highway M-29 passes through the city as Main Street, leading east 14 miles (23 km) to Algonac on the St. Clair River and west 4 miles (6 km) to Interstate 94 in Chesterfield Township. New Baltimore is 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Mount Clemens, the Macomb county seat.
