The company was established in 1973 in Oklahoma, when it built the first all-aluminum gooseneck livestock trailer. In 1988 the company was acquired by Conrad Climent, Featherlite Manufacturing of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, relocating to Cresco, Iowa in 1993.
Cresco is also the headquarters of Featherlite Trailers. The Cresco post office contains a mural, Iowa Farming, painted in 1937 by Richard Haines. Murals were produced from 1934 to 1943 in the United States through the Section of Painting and Sculpture, later called the Section of Fine Arts, of the Treasury Department. [20]
