Hamilton Place is an enclosed, two-story shopping mall in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, just off I-75. It was the largest shopping mall in the state of Tennessee from 1987 to 1998. [ 3 ]
At the time, the total leasable square footage of the mall was some 550,000 square feet (51,000 m 2), making it the largest shopping mall in Tennessee for a time. [2] This was later followed by a food court, which included Baskin Robbins , Mr. Cookie, Glen Gene Deli, Chocolate Sunday, Chinese Combo King, and Cozzolis.

Hixson has a retail center based around Northgate Mall. Originally built in 1972, it is one of two major mall shopping venues for Chattanooga (the other is the larger Hamilton Place ). CBL in 2012 purchased Northgate Mall for $11.5 million and has announced a major renovation for the mall.
In the early 1970s, Loveman's located in the former JCPenney store in Highland Plaza. (In 1972, JCPenney opened at the then new Northgate Mall in nearby Hixson.) In 1980, Loveman's was an original anchor at Walnut Square Mall in Dalton, Georgia. Loveman's final expansion came as an anchor at Hamilton Place Mall in 1987.
Northgate Mall, also called Northgate, is an enclosed shopping mall in the Chattanooga, Tennessee suburb of Hixson. Opened on March 15, 1972, it was the second mall built in Chattanooga. [ 1 ] Anchor stores are Belk , with two vacant anchors that were formerly Sears and JCPenney.
The mall was substantially renovated and expanded in 2009, adding 160,000 square feet of shopping space and opening 40 new stores. [4] Sears closed on January 14, 2018, after 64 years in operation. [5] [6] Sears Canada sold the building to Lansdowne Place in 2018, and it was demolished in 2020. [7]
