The 2024–25 UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's basketball team represents the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They are led by first-year head coach Kahil Fennell and play their home games at UTRGV Fieldhouse as members of the Southland Conference (SLC).
The 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 4, 2024. The regular season will end on March 16, 2025, with the 2025 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament beginning with the First Four on March 18 and ending with the championship game at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on April 7.

Texas has never lost to the school formerly known as UT-Pan American. None of UT's wins in this series have been decided by less than 15 points.
In his first season at UTRGV, the team finished 10–22 overall, with a 2–12 conference record. In the 2017–18 season, the Vaqueros went 15–16 while winning going 6–8 in WAC play before losing in the Quarterfinals to Seattle. This was the most wins by the team since the 2012–13 season in which they won 16 games.
The Vaqueros finished the 2022–23 season 6–23, 5–15 in WAC play to finish in a tie for tenth (last) place. [2] Due to the WAC's new Resume Seeding ranking, which is an advanced analytic developed by Ken Pomeroy that incorporated the performance of teams in both conference and non-conference games, [3] they failed to qualify for the WAC tournament, as only the top 12 teams qualify.
UTRGV has since delayed the start of varsity football to the 2025 season, though it plans to play an exhibition schedule in 2024. The school purchased H-E-B Park – later renamed to Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium – in 2024 to be the primary home of the football team in 2025. Sams Memorial Stadium will also host a game each year.
