PartyNextDoor was initially promoted through a series of posts on Canadian rapper Drake's October’s Very Own blog, the official OVO Sound blog. These posts included SoundCloud posts of material later used on PartyNextDoor including "Make a Mil" [2] and "Wus Good/Curious". [3]
It was initially released on December 3, 2014, digitally through OVO Sound, the label owned by rapper Drake, as well as on PartyNextDoor's SoundCloud page. The EP was later made available on streaming services for the first time on January 29, 2021, and includes four additional tracks that were previously released as Colours 2 in 2017.
