The following is a list of Illinois High School Association member conferences.Schools that belong to these conferences compete with each other on a local level in athletics and non-athletic activities.
The district serves Oswego, Aurora, Montgomery, Plainfield, Yorkville, and Joliet. Total enrollment as of 2012 was about 18,000 students. Oswego 308 is the seventh largest public school district in Illinois out of 868.
The Oswego High School football stadium is named "Ken Pickerill Stadium", named after the longtime teacher and coach of many OHS sports teams. [ 10 ] The school sponsors interscholastic teams for young men and women in basketball , cross country , soccer , swimming & diving , tennis , track & field , and volleyball . [ 11 ]
Oswego East High School is a part of the Southwest Prairie Conference and the Illinois High School Association. OEHS has a rivalry with Oswego High School. The matchup between the two schools is known as the "Crosstown Classic". [3] Notable athletes include Noah Schultz, professional baseball player for the Chicago White Sox.
The conference began competing during the 2006–2007 academic year, with Minooka Community High School, Morris Community High School, Oswego High School, Oswego East High School, Plainfield Central High School, Plainfield North High School, and Plainfield South High School being the founding members.
