"A Shoulder to Cry On" is a ballad performed by American singer-songwriter Tommy Page. Released in 1988, the song became one of Page's early hits, peaking at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. [1] Lyrically, the song is about a man who will be "a shoulder to cry on" for his friend (possibly his lover).

In total, Pride had seven more singles that topped the Billboard country songs chart between 1976 and 1979. This included "Someone Loves You Honey" and "You're My Jamaica." [6] Pride remained with RCA Records into the early 1980s and had more hits with new songs and covers of former hits.

Sa-Fire and Page co-wrote the song, which was released as a single overseas. Page's third album, released in 1991, was titled From the Heart, and his vocals there showcased a wider range with higher notes than previous efforts. On this album, the ballads were more orchestral. Tommy cited the songs in the album were inspired by Wilson Phillips.
