The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somaliland (Somali: Wasaarada Arrimaha Dibadda iyo Iskaashiga Caalamiga ah ee Jamhuuriyadda Somaliland) (Arabic: وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي) is the Somaliland Government ministry which oversees the foreign relations of Somaliland.
Somaliland is a de facto independent republic, but its independence remains unrecognised by any UN member state or international organisation. [1] All countries recognise Somaliland as part of Somalia. The government of Somaliland maintains informal ties with some foreign governments and has a small network of representative offices abroad.
Foreign relations of the Republic of Somaliland are the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland. [1] The region's self-declaration of independence (from Somalia on 18 May 1991, after the start of ongoing Somali Civil War) remains unrecognised by the international community. [2] [3]
