The San Francisco Conservatory of Music was founded in 1917 by Ada Clement and Lillian Hodghead as the Ada Clement Piano School. [citation needed] In 1923, the name was changed to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In 1956 the Conservatory moved from Sacramento Street to 1201 Ortega Street, the home of a former infant shelter.
Jeff Raz founded and served as director of the Clown Conservatory from 2000 to 2010. From 2012 to 2015 Joe Dieffenbacher took over as Director assisted by Dan Griffiths. . The San José-Evergreen Community College District was officially created on 1 July 1964, after which the district immediately began planning to build a community college. [1] The site in Evergreen, in East San Jose, was chosen in 1967. [1] The college was officially named Evergreen Valley College in 1970 and opened to its first class in 1975.
