Sako Limited (natively Sako Oy) [1] is a Finnish firearm and ammunition manufacturer located in Riihimäki, Tavastia Proper in southern Finland.It also has owned the Tikka brand of bolt-action rifles since 1983, and is now owned by the Italian firearm holding company Beretta Holding.
Later, Tikkakoski was omitted from the company name but SAKO continues to use the Tikka brand for a series of rifles, mostly the T3X model. SAKO's merger with Valmet to form Sako-Valmet in 1986 led to the closure of Tikkakoski's arms division in 1987.
Tikka M65, a long action rifle developed from the M55. Tikkakoski company was bought by Nokia in 1974 and by SAKO in 1983. [ 3 ] After Sako had bought Tikkakoski, a new rifle project, called both Tikka M551 and Sako L581 and nicknamed "Satikka" after SAKO and Tikka, took place, and 1777 rifles were made in 1982 and 1983. In 2017 Tikka introduced the Tikka T3x Arctic model in their regular commercial line, which is the civilian version of the Colt C19. Tikka T3x Arctic rifles lack the crest of the Canadian Rangers depicted on the stocks of C-19 service rifles. They are also more orange in colour than the red of the service rifle.
The Tikka M65 (originally Tikka LSA65) is a Finnish rifle designed by a Finnish firearms company Tikkakoski in 1969. It was designed as a long action rifle on the basis of the short action Tikka M55 rifle, [1] however its action differs much from the M55. [4] Like the Tikka M55, the M65 was imported to the United States by Ithaca Gun Company. [1]
