Scott D. Randell of Sandy was shot multiple times by a West Valley City police officer in the cul-de-sac of a West Jordan neighborhood. The shooting happened about 2:30 a.m.. Police believe Randell was one of two men who fled from police several hours earlier after being stopped while driving a reported-stolen car.
