Groton School is a private college-preparatory day and boarding school located in Groton, Massachusetts. It is affiliated with the Episcopal tradition. Groton enrolls about 380 boys and girls from the eighth through twelfth grades, dubbed Forms II–VI in the British fashion.
In 1975, the town joined with neighboring Dunstable, and its high school students were relocated to the Groton-Dunstable Regional High School. This building was renamed the Colonel William Prescott School, and house lower grades until it was closed in 2008. [2] The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. [1]

The regional school district was established in 1967 [8] with the high school, middle school, and one of the elementary schools sharing a common campus on Main St. in Groton. In 1999, the "new gym" at the Main Street campus was renovated and renamed as the Peter Twomey Youth Center (PTYC) to honor a then recently deceased student.

The second official school history, Acosta Nichols' Forty Years More: A History of Groton School, 1934–1974, does not contain a list of famous alumni, but it does contain a list of trustees, alumni association presidents, and summa cum laude graduates, some of which became famous in their own right. Groton High School, officially Groton Junior/Senior High School, is the only high school in the Groton Central School District. It serves the Village and Town of Groton, Tompkins County, New York, and extending into areas of Cortland and Cayuga Counties. [2] Its previous building is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
