Florida Technical College was founded in 1982 to provide post-secondary degrees. [1] [2] The Orlando main campus opened in 1982 and offered an approach to education that had students take one class at a time. [2] Two years later, FTC opened a campus in Jacksonville. [3] In 1987, the Tampa campus moved to a larger location east Tampa. [3]
Southern Technical College is a private for-profit technical college with multiple locations in Florida. It was founded in 2001 and provides diploma and associate degree programs. Southwest Florida College merged into Southern Technical College in 2014. [1]
The College of Medicine also offers a Ph.D. degree and a Physician Assistant program. As of 31 December 2017, the school had 471 students, of which 465 were Florida residents, 135 were underrepresented minorities, and 195 were minority students. There were 224 men and 247 women.
