From 2002 to April of 2008 the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation worked with the FBI on Operation Tennessee Waltz, the undercover investigation portion of the operation started in 2004 and ended in 2005. This operation resulted in the arrest and convictions of a dozen state and local public officials, several of which were state senators.
