Over time, WDEF-FM shifted to mainstream AC music. Noted morning drive time disc jockey Luther Masingill was the WDEF-AM-FM morning host from December 31, 1940 until his death in 2014. WDEF-TV (channel 12) is a television station in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with CBS. Owned by Morris Multimedia, the station maintains studios on Broad Street in Chattanooga. Its transmitter is on Hampton Road in nearby Signal Mountain, along Walden Ridge. The signal covers sections of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
In the 1940s, the station developed a sizable agricultural department and aired frequent farm market reports. In 1949, WOAI-TV came on the air as San Antonio's first television station. Because WOAI radio was an NBC Radio affiliate, Channel 4 primarily aired NBC-TV shows, although it also carried some programs from CBS, ABC and Dumont.
