Drums is an unincorporated community in Butler Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Located about 1,500 feet (460 m) altitude in the Sugarloaf Valley, it is situated east of Interstate 81 and north of Nescopeck Creek , a tributary of the Susquehanna River .

The Scottish regiment featured in this film is a battalion of the Gordon Highlanders, as evident from the cap badge, kilt and headdress. This is true to life, as the Gordon Highlanders were very active on the North-West Frontier during the British Raj, and were, for a time, garrisoned at Fort Jamrud at the mouth of the Khyber Pass .

Drum is a 1976 American drama film based on the 1962 Kyle Onstott novel of the same name. [1] It was released by United Artists and is a sequel to the film Mandingo , released in 1975. The film stars Warren Oates , Pam Grier and Ken Norton , and was directed by Steve Carver .
