The Belgian Division 1 is a semi-professional division and the third-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Challenger Pro League.It was created by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 2016, coming in at the third level and pushing all divisions one level down.
The 2024–25 Belgian Division 1 is the ninth season of the third-tier football league. It is the first season in which the division is split into two groups VV and ACFF.
Of the 74 clubs to have competed in the first division since its creation, 16 have been crowned champions of Belgium. Anderlecht is the most successful league club with 34 titles, followed by Club Brugge (19), Union Saint-Gilloise (11) and Standard Liège (10).

Beerschot and Dender EH were promoted respectively as champions and runners-up of the 2023–24 Challenger Pro League.Beerschot returned to the top level after just two seasons, while Dender EH needed 15 seasons to return (including four seasons playing at the third level).
