The Bournemouth and Poole College (BPC) is a well established educational provider which delivers further education, higher education and community based courses in Bournemouth and in Poole on the south coast of England. It is one of the largest British colleges with thousands of learners each year.

The college initially offered courses to prepare students for University of London degrees (1942-1976). [5] In the mid-1960s there were 6,850-day and evening students. [6] As early as 1965, in the House of Commons, the number of students at the college was highlighted, and the Secretary of State was asked to consider a university application. [6]
Since September 2005, BSG has been a humanities specialist school. The school has approximately 1,200 students, including 300 in the sixth form. [2] Until 2012, sixth form classes (including Theatre Studies, PE and Psychology) were open to Students at the boys-only Bournemouth School, with whom BSG share a sports and playing field.
