At one time, there was a Gristedes in the hamlet of Somers, New York; it was the farthest-north store in the chain. There was also a store in Tenafly, New Jersey, that closed in the 1980s and was replaced by a CVS Pharmacy. On Long Island, a Gristedes in Southampton closed in the late 1990s.
