Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity (ΦΣΠ) is a gender-inclusive/mixed-sex national honor fraternity based in the United States. [1] The fraternity is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania to foster scholarship, leadership, and fellowship.
The Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) is a voluntary association of national collegiate and post-graduate honor societies.It was established on December 30, 1925 by six organizations, including Alpha Omega Alpha, the Order of the Coif, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Xi, and Tau Beta Pi.

Delta Kappa Epsilon, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Lambda Beta, and Sigma Pi voted to join such a council, although keeping dual membership in NIC. It was then that the Fraternity Leadership Association (FLA) was born. However, Phi Delta Theta, a founding member of the NIC, decided not to join FLA. [2]
Other honor societies were established a century later, including Tau Beta Pi for engineering (1885), Sigma Xi for scientific research (1886), and Phi Kappa Phi for all disciplines (1897). Mortar Board was established in 1918 and was the first national honor society for women who were college seniors.

To be selected as a member of ΟΔΚ, students must be among the top 35 percent of all students at that particular institution and hold a leadership role in one of the society's five areas of recognition. Omicron Delta Kappa is a member of the Honor Society Caucus, along with Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Sigma Xi.
