Summers County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia.As of the 2020 census, the population was 11,959. [1] Its county seat is Hinton. [2] The county was created by an act of the West Virginia Legislature on February 27, 1871, from parts of Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer and Monroe counties and named in honor of George W. Summers (1804–1868).
The Avis Overhead Bridge (Hinton Main Street Bridge) is located in Hinton, West Virginia.It was constructed in 1927-1930 [1] in partnership with the City of Hinton and C&O Railroad [2] to replace a previous at grade crossing.

Bellepoint was an unincorporated community located in Summers County, West Virginia, United States. Bellepoint was later merged into Hinton ; however, it had its own post office, as seen in the image below.
