Union National Bank (UNB) was a bank based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 1982 until it merged with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank in 2019. [2] The bank had its shares listed in the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) under the symbol UNB. [3]
The National Bank of Egypt's share continued to decline through several public offerings, to reach 18.7%. In 2006, a consortium led by Ripplewood Holdings acquired the share of the National Bank of Egypt. In July 2009, Actis purchased a 9.1% stake in Commercial International Bank, thus becoming the largest single shareholder in the bank's capital.
In December 2010, the Central Bank of Libya acquired the 17.72% shareholding of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority in ABC, increasing its stake to 59.37%. In June 2015 Arab Banking Corporation revamped its corporate identity and changed its brand name to Bank ABC. The bank's new identity launch coincides with the commemoration of its 35th anniversary.
