The middle and high school in Gillett stopped operations in 2009. The Gillett School District, also known as Gillett Public Schools was a school district headquartered in Gillett, Arkansas. As of circa 2000 it had about 280 students. [ 1 ] It was administratively divided into two schools: Gillett Elementary School and Gillett High School .
Gillett Elementary School serves prekindergarten through grade 5. [6] The current facility was built in the 1950s. In 2010 the school had 81 students, and in 2012 the school had 74 students. In 2012, the DeWitt School District board voted in favor of closing Gillett Elementary, but it had to ask the Arkansas Board of Education for approval. [4]
