The United Wall Paper Craftsmen of North America (UWPC) was a labor union representing wallpaper cutters and printers in the United States and Canada.. The union was founded on June 29, 1923, when the National Print Cutters' Association of America merged with the National Association of Machine Printers and Color Mixers, to form the United Wall Paper Crafts of North America.
Ukiyo-e is the best-known type of Japanese woodblock art print. Most European uses of the technique for printing images on paper are covered by the art term woodcut, except for the block books produced mainly in the 15th century.
The technique used by Morris for making wallpaper was described in some detail in Arts and Crafts Essays by Members of the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society published in 1893.
