The Indiana State Treasurer is a constitutional office first established in the 1816 Constitution of Indiana, and was made largely to mirror the position of the treasurer during Indiana's territorial period. Between 1816 and until 1851, the treasurer was nominated by the governor and confirmed by the state senate.
Fremont Township is one of twelve townships in Steuben County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 2,851, down from 2,993 at the 2010 census, [ 4 ] and it contained 1,211 housing units.
Fremont is located four miles east of the interchange between Interstate 69 and the Indiana Toll Road (Interstate 80/90) on State Road 120.. According to the 2010 census, Fremont has a total area of 2.22 square miles (5.75 km 2), of which 2.21 square miles (5.72 km 2) (or 99.55%) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km 2) (or 0.45%) is water.
