I done it for my mother’s iPhone 7 Plus before, in the Apple Store. I did a walk in with the Apple Store Genius Bar last summer (not during a holiday) and they did it under two hours on a weekday. No important battery message as the replacement was done under Apple, and the water resistance seal is installed back after the battery is replaced.
Never had a problem replacing the 11 or 13 Pro Max in-person, but today my iPhone 14 Pro Max was "flagged" for some reason at the Apple Store during my Genius Bar Appointment. Aww I just had a battery replacement messed up for a 6S Plus 64gb. I emphasized to the Apple employee, this iPhone was in like new condition. No scratches/dents anywhere. Today picked it up and they noted they ripped display cable so Apple replaced the whole screen and new battery.

Did anyone else have to make an appointment to have their Earpods replaced. I'm asking because I walked into Apple Store Pasadena and asked for a replacement. However, the Apple Specialist near the Genius Bar indicated there weren't any available appointments to see a Genius. Instead, he told me I need to setup an appointment tomorrow.
yea as stated, most malls are open hours before the mall or stores officially open. last time i had a 10am appointment (mall opens officially at 10, as were the apple store hours) the main mall doors were already open at 930am. most stores were occupied by staff but the gates or doors were still closed while they were setting up. the apple store was fully staffed and had customers inside, but ...
He ordered an iPhone 5 online, it came, scuffed to bits. He called Apple Care and they sent him a replacement phone. The new one actually had a sticker across the box opening saying it had been inspected by Apple Care, and yet when he opened it, it too was scuffed in very obvious places. It was even worse than his first one.
Back on topic, the customer service at my local Apple store is less than stellar, in large part, I believe, because of the popularity of Apple and the enormous amount of traffic that each Apple store generates. I see Apple, the Genius Bar (now non-existent) nas their generally slipping customer service as casualties of their own success.
AppleCare+ iPhone 14 Pro Max STILL got flagged at an Apple Store Genius Bar Appointment Had a really bad experience at the Apple Store this morning. I always break my iPhones, I'm just really clumsy and rather pay AppleCare+ and repair/replacement fees than Otter Boxes.
