Posted June 8, 2011. Blue Ribbon was a brand produced by National Pen Products / Chicago, IL. Without a photo, I cannot provide a guess as to the timing of your pen. Here is a photo of one of their oversized jade flat tops from probably the late 20s to 30s. National was tied to many pen brands during this time.

spacecoastpenny. Member - Gold. 299. Location:West Texas Desert. Flag: Posted February 19. Been going through my vintage pens to pick out 100 pens to sell. Not sure if these are going to make the cut or not. Thought maybe I would share these with my fellow fountain pen lovers.
David Nishimura reports that Miller's was a sub-brand of Conklin. On size and general construction, I give a 9/10 out of personal preferences. Like many vintage flat-tops, it seems quite large. It is 5.25 in length when capped, 6.75 inches in length when posted. The barrel is .5 inches in diameter, the cap is about 11/16 of an inch wide.
All of the Wahl pens were made in Chicago, so that doesn't help. 6 is the pen size - should be 4 1/4 inches long, according to the catalog. If it's 3 1/2 inches it's a numer 5 size. We don't need no stinkin' millimeters! 2 does mean a number 2 nib. The second 2 denotes the darts pattern.
Flag: Posted September 16, 2012. I bought a Capella fountain pen via direct mail order (using a check!) in the very early 1990s. It was a cigar shaped pen, black laquer I think. It used international standard cartridges, and I paid extra for a 2 pack piston/screw type converters that were "MADE IN TAIWAN R.O.C.".
shamwari. When my Dad died in the late 1980s among his possessions were a Parker Duofold and the subject of this post, a National Security 222. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it as National Security seemed an unlikely name for a pen and as the sac had hardened and perished it was left in a drawer.
