Lots of scam standalone sites are out there too - guides about how to scam that way are on the rise as well. Luckily, Etsy does have really good buyer protection. It's easy to get a refund if you do buy from a scam shop. Make sure to leave a negative review before opening a case for a refund!
Only communicate about your orders through Etsy’s messaging system. If you have to report a scam, a concise paper trail that Etsy can fully access is going to make things much easier. Don’t make/take payments outside of Etsy. Not only is it against Etsy’s ToS, but you are also forfeiting Etsy’s protection.

This is a scam. This person is trying to pull you off platform to send you a !fakepayment If you are selling on Etsy the sale and all communications should be conducted through it for your protection. NEVER move off platform to conduct business. Award. FourWayFork.
TLDR; Paid an Etsy seller for a replacement piece on a previously bought item 2 months ago through PayPal F&F and still haven't received it. I'm doing my best to give him the benefit of the doubt, especially with the holidays and the family issues they have had go on.

Etsy is rampant with people trying to scam you. Especially in the area of Bit Coin Miners, Mining Rigs and Graphics Cards. These Etsy stores have 0 sales and 0 followers. They use the same picture from other stores trying to scam. I jumped in on some Antminers that are selling for 10% of the price they sell for on Amazon.
