Twin/Tone Records was an independent record label based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which operated from 1977 until 1994.It was the original home of influential Minnesota bands the Replacements and Soul Asylum [1] and was instrumental in helping the Twin Cities music scene achieve national attention in the 1980s.
The definitive beginning of Golden Smog is hard to pinpoint given the mercurial nature of the band's lineup. However, some claim that the group that would evolve into Golden Smog debuted in January 1987, when a band billed as "The Take It To The Limit Band" played an (almost) all-Eagles cover show at the Uptown Bar in Minneapolis.
On May 16, 2015, a "Longhorn Bar Reunion" was held at First Avenue and 7th St Entry in Minneapolis. Local bands and performers (including X-Boys, Curtiss A, Hypstrz, Flamin'-Oh's, Yipes! and members of The Suburbs and the Suicide Commandoes, billed as "the Sub-Commandoes"), many containing members who played at Jay's Longhorn, paid tribute.

L'Assassins was a Surf/Garage rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota that formed in 2010 and has released 3 EPs, toured in Europe [1] and played several festivals, including the "Girls Got Rhythm" festival and the "Memory Lanes Block Party".

Throughout the 1990s, Dosh played with a number of bands on the East Coast. When he moved back to Minneapolis in 1997, he started his own band, as he had begun to compose his own music. He also worked at his alma mater, Lake Country School, teaching percussion, driving the school bus, and assisting classroom teachers.
