The Bernon Worsted Mill is an historic textile mill at 828 Park Avenue in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It is a brick building, two stories tall, about 280 feet (85 m) in length. It was built in 1919 by Charles Augustus Proulx, and was operated as a producer of specialty custom worsted wool yarns, in what was then a sparsely populated part of the city.
In 1885, the site was purchased by B.B.& R. Knight Co., one of the largest textile companies in Rhode Island at the time, who marketed their cloth under the Fruit of the Loom label. Atlantic Mills, also known as the Atlantic Delaine Company Mill and the Atlantic Mills Complex is a historic mill building with 330,000 square feet of leasable space located at 118 Manton Ave in the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island.
In 1995 a new owner attempted to revive the mill with new tenants including stores selling antiques, furniture, and jewelry. [8] The mills reopened in 2018 as Pontiac Lofts luxury mill apartments, with additional tenants Apponaug Brewing Company, Studio B salon, and On The Ropes Boxing. [9]
