The Ford Puma is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Ford since 2019 as a variant of the seventh-generation Fiesta. [ 5 ] Sales started in Europe in 2019, in Australasia in late 2020, and in South Africa from October 2023. [ 4 ]
The Puma was only sold in Europe. Production ended in 2001, although sale of stock vehicles continued into 2002. Ford did not replace it with another small coupé, and instead introduced the Ford StreetKa, a two-seater convertible based on the Fiesta like the Puma was. The StreetKa also borrowed the Puma's transmission and suspension.
In 1971, Puma began to manufacture truck cabs for Chevrolet as a sideline. In 1978, Puma decided to launch its own truck model, called the 4T. Years later the Puma 6T model was launched, and in 1981 the Puma 2T model and buses were also made with chassis of its trucks. [3] In 1974 the Puma GTB (for Gran Turismo Brasil) was launched.
