In 2012, part of the campus was re-opened as the R. E. Hunt Museum & Cultural Center. [5] The museum is housed in the former Fine Arts Building. [6] In 2018, the Mississippi Department of Archives and History created controversy by declaring Lee High School, the white school, a Historic Landmark, but not granting the same status to Hunt. [7]
