Hotel Interlaken is one of the oldest hotels in Switzerland. It opened in 1323 and was originally used as a guest house of the cloister and later it was part of the administration of the region. [1] The old court room on the first floor of the Hotel is now used as a meeting room. [2]
The hotel cost a "sensational" four million Swiss francs. [3] All the south-facing rooms with a lake view, as well as all the east-facing rooms, came with an en suite bathroom, which was considered the height of luxury.
